idk what is up with you people... I loved the original hobbit more than any of them... but i love the amazing singing and the fantastic monolouges... I would not be anywhere near as happy as i am without these movies....

the awful songs & the un needed monologue voice over ruins this section, but overall i think this film is pretty good, certainly aimed more squarely at kids than the other versions, but im glad 2 see its not as bizarre as the bakshi version lol

the bakshi version is so bizarre it almost comes across as a lord of the rings parody, with extremely over the top acting & overtly gay characters

I think Peter Jackson steered to far away from the Ring Story :i.e. Sam & Frodo's story especially in the second & Third films because what was really the second story in the books. made for better films and he needed to emphasize other things.
But in so doing diminshed the physchological fear element of the Ring (Black Riders didn't come across as foreboding as they should have for example Minas Morgul was portrayed wrong) I think he did excellent job I would have done it differently

i love this movie. but i am starting to see an odd relationship betweeen sam and frodo. . . sam is way too obsessive.

You're just starting to notice that now?

the last time i saw this movie i was a little kid. i only found this by chance. kids dont see the obsessive relationship.
