@YamahasRAwesome no, this 200sx isn't on a sentra/sunny chassis. this car is rear wheel drive and became the 240sx in the late 80's. the name 200sx was just stuck on the sentra 2door body in the mid 90's for a while.
Yes when Nissan came to the U.S. they created Datsun. Once they figured that they come make it they changed the U.S. name to Nissan. It was in the early to mid 80s when the name change happened. You would even see name plates that said Datsun by Nissan. Go to wikipedia for more info.
The stock motor isn't too bad for drifting I drift and race daily in mine I have less than 100,000 miles on my engine and the cars in fairly good shape, I race and drift with my friend which has a Datsun 280zx both beautiful cars and great for drifting though swapping the motors would be good for the 200sx since its only a 4 cylinder engine stock
Datson was a separate company until Nissan of Japan purchased them and took over In japan Nissan was a very successful company and didn't want their name being ruined so they changed the Datson name to Datsun to honor the sun in their flag, they used the name datsun in the US to protect the nissan name and the 200sx is actually the Nissan Silvia that's its name in Japan like here its Datsun 280 in Japan its Nissan Fairlady
