Charlie Chaplin in THE KID... a magical 50 minute film he made in 1921, inspired by the loss of his own child... extremely warm and heart-felt. I encourage everyone to see it. Rent it from Netflix or Blockbuster online. It's one of Charlie's bests, and one of my favorites.

The way that The Kid would still work for our modern society is the timeless humor and comedic antics performed by the actors in the film. Facial expressions, hand gestures, comedic timing, and movement are a universal language that could be understood by anyone young or old. The silent film era and over exaggerated movements are starting to make a comeback in modern film as directors and cinematographers attempt to use the old styles and add a modern flair.
i love how people all over the world can enjoy his brilliance. without speaking, he creates such depth and projection, emotion, comedy, the essence of what makes us feel and experience magical moments as human beings. there is no one else like Charlie Chaplin and i'm honoured to be able to watch his work today and have the pleasure to be whisked away into the world he created for us.
