Amazingly for that time with their sensibilities for types of overwrought drama and extreme humor, the movie was considered a flop!?! Atleast Hepburn was smart and got royalties/ownership, realising people would come to their senses and develop an interest in it's deft comical qualities in later decades.
wow. i never knew the uncanny resemblance between Grant's character here and Reeve's Clark Kent from the Superman movies. I mean, i know he based his role off of Grant but my goodness, i didn't expect to find the original source to be that strong of an influence! ! i must see this movie now !
@mrsubconscious You are so astute! Was thinking that too and in doing my recent Cary Grant fangirl research online now more is available to learn about him, Chris Reeve openly admitted and was proud he tried to copy Cary Grant's bumbling character and then his suave handsome ones, when trying to play Clark/Superman! I grew up watching old film reruns and Cary stole my heart or for guys impressed the hell out of me

PS; Grant was a homosexual.
