i've still got the 7inch single for this :)
For some reason it sounds much rawer than the mp3/cd version i heard since....sounds like bullshit i know. but it really does. wish he was still writing songs like this :(

Well i know that there were at least two versions of this song, One on the Cult of Ray, and a different recording on the Headache EP. Frank Black Francis often rerecords his stuff... its not uncommon to find 2-3 versions of the same song. The black letter days opens and closes with 2 very different covers of The Black Rider. Many other examples exsist.

Honestly I've always felt the "vinyl sounds better than cd" was kinda bs. doesn't stop me from buying old shellac and brainiac 12" for collection (i don't even have a record player). one day they'll be worth something.
