Full of soul... So hard to find...and whenever we do, the media and the public like to focus on what these ppl do/did to themselves in private... Never mind that she got off her head on drugs...her choice... shame such talent died young that's all... we are lucky we managed to get Janis and others recorded so that we get to enjoy their immortality long after they are gone...

now really? I never would have guessed that *duh* nah just kidding. I know that's why, but i still think it's kind of sad. Must be a pain to sing when your voice is so scratchy.

i think it sounds very.. unique. very different to all the other versions i've heard.. but i do prefer ella fitzgerald's version.. I think it's sad she took drugs & stuff. It sounds like it hurt her voice.. I'm not saying it sounds bad.. but it just sounds so scratchy. so broken. especially by the high notes. My throat hurts just hearing it. The song is great, though.
