The only reason people are beating down on Scatman john is because Scat music was very unpopular back then.

Most people who did scat usually ended up breaking up or just stopping after their big hits

Scat was never considered popular, So no one ever tried to bring it to life.

Scatman John was probably the only person who didnt end up like other Scat artists.
