I agree with you 12inchy12.,change that "Irish/English" thing. But he was also from the Peoples Republic of Cork. To Anne Briggs , the only time Rory played Pop music was when he was with the Fontana Showband. I had the priviledge of meeting Rory,and what an unassuming character he was . A gentelman in every way. "Ar Dheis De a Anam" ( May his soul be at the right hand side of God)
oh wow, so deep...b shit. been on this planet and living in the united states covert and sometimes overt empire of the world since end of ww2, for too long. i think american folk music lovers like this droll, lethargic, depressing celtic music more than the modern Irish youth or elders do for that matter. give me some ouds, african harps, muslim chant, armenian lute players, etc but spare me any more acoustic steel string acoustic guitars and this dull type of aryan folk music.
