As for me, I'm a lifer. 20+ or give my life in service to my country. Actually I've been in too many close calls and I don't see myself making it to 40 and I'm alright with that. After your first near death, it scares the shit outta you. After the next few, I think like I do now. You live, you die, it's over. The world is an evil place. I don't believe we change anything. And I'm not sure where you're from, maybe Berkely or SanFran, but here in the South, people love the military both active, reserves, guard and vets. They are shown the utmost respect and lately that has begun to annoy me with alot of new GI's thinking we should be treated with special privileges but that's another topic altogether.

when fired upon, are you not ordered to kill everyone including innocents who may be shielding the attacker? or hiding him? is it not your directive to kill innocents that are protecting a possible attacker?

If you are not killing babies. how did they die? compartmentalization means you will never know how many babies have been killed by drones and missiles. you personally may not have ever fired at innocents or killed a child. but the people you work for have and will again
