as a very young teen , I actually got to meet Mr. Hampton after a concert. He was nice enough to come out and sit and chat a bit.
Even though he was primarilly known as a vibe player, I was amazed at his drum set playing. He had all the old time stick tricks and juggling sticks with a strobe light while he played. It was amazing!

For me it's more than moving to experience not only that musical execution, but as well the amount of joy he obviously puts in all his playing ... great! ... and thanks for giving it as well to the younger like me ... :-)

I wouldn't say he puts Peart to shame, but Barker and Lee and especially the talentless Charlie Watts...abso-freakin-lutely, he puts the ti shame.
