I do like Monsieur Duchable and I love this piece, but I think maybe he had somewhere to go after the concert 'cause he ran through the piece, lol. Hardly any music made, just a display of technique, which was, by the way, superb.
he does a lot of interesting stuff here! Although i don't agree with some things and i think he plays some part a bit too mechanically, he really explores the contrasts of the characters of the opera through differences in touch/sound/tempo/dynamics! that's really nice!!!
Yundi Li's Rigoletto is one of the best! When I listen to Rigoletto I want to hear a romantic piece and and I want to hear a performance which does remind me to the Opera.
