Summertime -- Billie Holiday 1936 Summertime was a tune from the opera Porgy and Bess that had openend only some 9 months before this recording was made. Even today, some 72 years later, the tune is still a favourite standard, but Billie's was probably the greatest version ever made. Billie and her Orchestra with Bunny Berigan trumpet, Artie Shaw clarinet, Joe Bushkin piano, Dick McDonough guitar, Pete Peterson bass and Cozy Cole drums.

OMG!She is awseome,I learned bout her in music and I'm 10!Did u know she was I think rhaped 3 times and twice by her dad but I still said think.I'm not sure though.Anyways,she rocks!!!!! XD
thanks for replying, but I just found out a few days ago, the one I was thiniking of is by Billy Stewart. He sings pretty good but he's ugly as sin, and the video I found is only so-so. I suspect his physical appearance kept him from being more widely successful.
