Thanks, BandanaBoy123. A number of the kata have prescribed bunkai (applications) but this particular one does not. That being said the kata offers many possibilities for one who takes the time to learn.

I like our martial art better than most because it isn't based on being sport like most, it's actual technique and self defense. I met Hagashi personally when he came to Edmoton Canada. He called me a rabbit because i'm fast but quiet mostly because i don't kia. Not on purpose though.

Chito-Ryu is definitely all about technique and self defense. There is also a lot of sports related techniques for those who like that sort of thing. The beauty of our style is you can do one, the other, or both!

Don't be afraid to throw a good kiai in there. If you are fast and quiet then that kiai is going to give you a wonderful element of surprise.

I don't believe Higashi Sensei is trying to go against anyone or joining up with anyone but rather he's just trying to do what's right for Chito-Ryu and for Canada. If co-ordinating with US Chito-Ryu makes sense then he may.

That being said, only Higashi Sensei knows how he's planning to move forward. :D

i actually go to sensei highashi's karate school in toronto i see him like 3x a day, never knew he was so popular lol

I generally only get to see him twice a year so I try to make the most of it when I do!
