@TrouserSnape Okay, thanks for repsonding to my comment politely, unlike some people. It's just a little joke, maybe it goes a bit too far. I'm sure everyone on this page is angry with me for slating this film, I just didn't get as much out of it as some of you obviously did. It's not my type of film. I like other Stanley Kubrick films like A Clockwork Orange, but I'm sure there are people out there who hate it and think it's bullshit as well. If I offended anyone, I'm sorry
Yeah, well Stanley Kubrick didn't commit genocide. And I'm pretty sure most people don't appreciate what Hitler did. Kubrick, on the other hand, is praised by experts to have been a phenomenal filmmaker. I understand what you're saying, but I just think that you didn't use the right example to explain it. ;]
By the way, the monolythe represents "truth", however, truth is found NOT by intellect, philosophy or emotion. Truth is found by "NEED"... Good luck, friends...
this movie is not made for blind people who hit their heads against a black rectangular wall wondering what´s the meaning of it.... and in a wrong way call it a pretentious one........it´s not enough if you touch the monolith.....you have to see beyond of it........Kubrick earned that because he worried about the act of seeing through everything.....i´m pretty sure that he had no need lots of followers....or cocksuckers??
@patera124 whoa ho. I'm clearly on a page where a load of people are Stanley Kubrick cocksuckers. Just cause loads of people say this is the greatest movie ever doesn't mean it IS. That's like someone saying Hitler's great because he had loads of followers. I'm not ill informed because unlike you I see through the film as a pretnetious piece of bullshit. And how dare you steal my comment about Freud. You're a stupid moron who'll trot straight into a slaughterhouse if everyone says it's great
