how can i make this at home in a cheap way?

looks intriguing but can you explain a bit more about the silicone intaglio plate? You exposed it to UV light but we didnt how you developed it.

It can only be intaglio if the ink applied sits in incised lines below the plate surface, which would also require surface wiping the plate. Neither of these apply here. In fact, this is an ersatz method (no offense) of making prints without the work it takes to make good prints. This method has many drawbacks. It is weak on tone control, tends to produce ink scumming, and does not lend itself to consistency in editions which is one of the main purposes of printmaking.

I am a writer, but print making, drawing, and painting, along with the other fine arts are so fascinating. The process is amazing to me. I love to see how the artist takes his or her concept and then walks it through each stage. The record (that is something we may see before our eyes) is there before us. Not like in writing where so much is hidden and veiled in the mind. I never get tired of watching artist work. Well done! Thanks for letting me into your studio to watch.

The video is concise and exceptionally clear about explaining the process. It would be great if you could add one about the way you compose your film in more depth. I am still showing this to the students. If only they were as neat as you!

Yes this is a brief explanation. MasterInker likes to lecture people... However,this print does use intaglio in the form of scratching the surface with a stylus and rocker thus making it intaglio. However, if I must say... I did not explain this in the video.

This technique is actually waterless planography printed on an etching (intaglio) press. Intaglio means that the images is below the surface of the printing matrix, If the positive and negative are on the same level, it is panographic. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

i thought that was rotogravure
