Colin Edwards tests street tires on his GP race bike

MotoGP rider Colin Edwards laps the Sepang circuit using Michelin Pilot Power 2CT street tires on his Yamaha YZR-M1 race bike. His lap times were only 8 seconds slower than with full race-spec slicks.

the video definitely said "the texas tornado then completed his 5 circuit laps in a time that was only 8 seconds behind his BEST, on the same circuit last year on competition tires"

and thats on a monster 250 hp bike.

8 seconds is a massive amount of time when you conside:
1 lap
same rider
same bike

think of the distance he'd cover in that time and that's EVERy lap!

no consider that tyres will do maybe 2-3 gp with that time..street tyres must do thousand of km..slick few hundred with normal use

Which is correct, it was about 1.6 seconds per lap slower.

There is no way he was ONLY 1.6 sec per lap slower. Pretty sure it was 8seconds per lap - which makes sense.

no it's not, 1,6seconds per lap slower on a street tyre is very good
