Sorry to be a stickler, but I saw every performance of Fool Moon, all 3 runs on Broadway, in LA, 2 runs in SF, Seattle, Vienna and Munich.

Every single performance.

Bill was not involved in 'Cinema'. It was a David solo, just as 'Harlequin and Pantelone' was a Bill solo.

You are probably thinking of 'Big Night Out', where Dave takes the girl on a date, and Bill is the waiter.

Sorry to self-reply, but I thought I'd clear up another thing.

The show did not run from 1992-1999.
Fool Moon opened on Broadway at the Richard Rogers Theater at the beginning of '93 and ran for approx. 9 months. Then the show had a limited run at the Doolitle in LA in '94 (that's when this Tonight Show segment was taped).

Fool moon then did limited runs in Europe, SF and Seattle over the next few years, including limited holiday runs at the Ambassador on Broadway, and the Brooks-Atkinson.

Even though you dont agree with me, Ben Brantley of the New York Times does. His column published on November 23, 1998, entitled THEATER REVIEW: Sanity Restored in a Fun House, Brantley reviews Fool Moon. His review states: For the show's penultimate sequence, Mr. Shiner plays silent movie director (with Mr. Irwin kibitzing) to four audience recruits, and somehow their self-consciousness and anxiety is shaped into charming theater, something with its own rhythms and comic form.

Seriously, dude.
I was on stage EVERY TIME FOOL MOON WAS PERFORMED, ok?
I recognize that you really, really want to be right about this, but you are not.
'Cinema' was a solo piece.

Heaven forbid, I wrote Broadway when I should have written off-Broadway (Brooks Atkinson Theater). PLEASE read Brantley's review. Rather than being preoccupied with "Fool Moon", I'm doing pediatric clinicals and have spent the last five days trying to help a 20 month old child and her family deal with her terminal illness, and the child's death this morning. Arguing about what happened when in "Fool Moon" and your insistence that you are correct seems trivial in the grand scheme of things.
