People say "Nasty" Anderson invented the blitz, but I dunno -Howard Jackson does a pretty good blitz here. H. J. was extremely fast, even by today's standards, and a cunning counter fighter. Justifiably in the Martial Arts Hall of Fame. Check out more of Master Jackson at www.howardjackson.net

One match I'd LOVE to have seen would have been Jackson vs. Keith Vitali in their respective primes. Two of the greatest lightweights. Could Vitali's careful footwork, strategic sense and superb kicks have countered Jackson's blur-fast gap-closing and sheer aggressiveness? Alas, we'll never know:) --
Am pretty sure that Jackson's opponent here is Larry Carnahan, from Jhoon Rhee's school in Washington, D.C. Carnahan was a strong, spirited figher and excellent kicker. But Jackson -- here in his point-fighting prime -- simply overwhelmed him, as he did everyone else in this tournament. I seem to recall, but am not sure, that Carnahan was the only one of Jackson's opponents that day in Dallas, in early 1974, to score on him ---
Mr. Jackson was my idol when I was a junior fighter circa 1974. Never had the opportunity to speak with him, which I regret. God bless him and may he rest in peace --
