Expert, this recording was made when Louis was young, and his gravel voice just got "worse" as he aged (and also due to the fact he smoked cigs and reefer every day).

I liked the "hot five" in this animation, especially the clarinet player!

digital world..... cleaned up.... dirty up.... changing the original format..... who knows...... they cleaned it up a bit..... the modern ears can't hear it the same way..... hahah.....

I noticed Louis Armstrong's voice doesn't have that famous gravel that we all know from him. I wonder if the growl was just a later exaggeration, or did his voice really get that way eventually.  Great song though, and really cool animation. Bravo!
