Yeah. Well that's not to say Serkis or Woodthorpe weren't good either. What helps is that I grew up with this Gollum and it's locked in my mind. I do think that alot of people are getting the more pitiful side more than his scary side. I guess it's like how you look at King Kong or Frankenstein's Monster. Both had pitiful sides, but they still killed. I think each worked for their own versions. I can't picture this one in the last two books, but in Hobbit and this he's perfect!

4:40 it seriously sounds like he says "when the clouds farted"

That part used to make me laugh so goddamn hard as a child. This movie brings back memories.

Props to this version for keeping Gollum's Gethsemane/Christ-figure moment, here; something Jackson never had the guts to do. That's pretty ironic when you consider all the Biblical shit Jackson fabricates in Two Towers, the one thing Tolkien obviously ripped from The Bible gets cut. And isn't it funny how no one noticed that? I guess they were too preoccupied with the singing orcs.

"And when precious goes, we'll diiiieee into the dusssssst." He was predicting his own death, right there.

Okey wow, that has problems. I have to disagree with you on that. I doubt Gollem had the power to see the future and his death, also Dust and Lava are two different substances to fall into. It's more likely he was speaking of dying of age with his "precious" Ring. Also how is the Two Towers movie "Biblical" I've seen that movie plenty of times, so please enlighten me. And I hope you don't give me some far fetched answer like before.

First off, if you're going to debate, at least spell the character's name right. And it isn't far-fetched. Tolkien was a devout catholic; there's no reason why he wouldn't raid The Bible for ideas. Hell, the whole LOTR trilogy is just a retelling of Das Ring der Nibelung. The parallel is obvious: Gollum dies while vanquishing evil to save Middle Earth; by christian mythology, Jesus dies on the cross to save humanity.

Oh, and the Jackson "Two Towers" reference (according to my aunt who's the Bible scholar of the family) is when Gandalf is dispossessing Theoden of Saruman's essence. NOWHERE in the real trilogy does that happen; it's only in the movies.
