It's kind of hard to tell for sure when you are (a) recording audio with a camera mic (b) the files are compressed mp3s and (c) the sound is coming out of people's computer speakers. But I must say I'm partial to the sound of steel.

I have the 28 wood body took me a while to realize that was the original coverplate, mine had the paint stripped off still has patent applied for where the fretboard ends, and the lady in hawaii on the back is intact. I also have the 31 steel body, my favorite sound of all the nationals, I had an early german sivler triplate (12 fret neck) sold to a bluegrass band the Seldom Scene so I could buy an engine for an old Lotus I was restoring, I still miss that one, wish I kept it. Great video!

I'm gonna go with the 1931 Duolian and the 1928 tricone. Although I've got to say that my 2005 tricone with hot rod cones sounds just as good if not better than the 1928. Please see my videos for a sample of its sound.

Thanks pal, this is just a start. I usually have 20-25 vintage nat's in the shop. I have several other ideas, including using separate audio recording and then laying it over the video.
Appreciate the props, but I'll have more and better shootouts in the near future. Best, Len

Great video and incredible demo with all those
beautiful guitars.German Silver body seems to
have an incredible sound both for old and new
ones. Also the new frosted duco has a fantastic
sound especially in the bass notes.
Thanks to share it.
