Renegade and Yie Ar Kung Fu spring to mind - the CPC Renegade is actually better looking than the arcade, although far easier.
Ikari warriors showed that a game like commando could be done in full colour, with plenty of action - even if Ikari's sprites were 24x 24 pixels in size.
What really nobbled the CPC was the poor sound chip and no sprite/ scrolling hardware. Had Amstrad added that, I think they'd have cleaned up completely.
I agree with you there. And for all the pathetic fanboys out there who give malc1976 2 thumbs down, he's right, the music is far superior on the c64 as it had a sound chip to be rivaled in the day. The Amstrad and Spectrum's sound pailed in comparison and this from someone who owned all 3. Just type into YouTube: Commando c64 if you still think malc is or I are wrong.
thank you NitroTab1 yes the music is way better on the c64 it had a great sound chip and so did the amiga but i bet some people would say the atari st was better than that
