I'm interested in the girlish and Victorian lifestyle there. Those things, examples, decorated card, lace, white dress, pressed flower, and corset captivate most of girls' hearts, I think.

Been to Hanging Rock many a time. Dont believe movies. there is no mysterious thing around the granite to lure you into a gap. Its Crap!!!!!! Great movie though. The college building they used was lost in the 1983 ash wednesday fires
The building used in the movie was actually Martindale Hall in the Clare Valley, SA. Fortunately, it's still standing (and has a website which talks about its use in the movie).
No worries mate, you're certainly not the first! Over the years the rumour-mill surrounding the movie went into overdrive and there were quite a few snippets of information out there that almost became legend. I think it says more about human nature and our tendency to be fascinated with the unusual.
I reckon its real. Three girls went on the rock. One was found but she was crazy and couldnt tell anyone what happened. The other two have never been found.
have to say i am from Spain, im from 1980 and i saw this film being a child, and i don't know how i still remember it and despite i didn't knew english back in the days i remembered thru the years the name of this movie. Maybe the music , the atmophere, the story that honestly(i dont remember) or that i felt in love with the beatifull lost girl. And here i am, more than 20 years later watching this scenes again.
