too bad the world only looks at the bad things instead of overcoming them.

to bad a country with a black president still discriminates against blacks, homosexuals, minorities and foreigners.

that's a pretty pessimistic worldview SL. take an honest look around you sometime and you may see that the country and world around you are not so singularly negative.

that is called brainwashing it is not only missionarioes it is also media, politicians and the uneducated.

"Rival religions" are at war everywhere in the world it is not just africa - if you are to make a statement:

then at least tell us what COUNTRY u r speaking about.

You can follow the battle between islam and everybody else on various internet sites, the best being (I think) religionofpeace.

The only countries where religious warring is not taking place right now are Zambie, Botswana, Angola, Congo, Namibia, SA, Lesotho, Swaziland and Zimbabwe - Coincidently countries with low levels if islamic adherience (but high levels of AIDS and catholicism - 7 of those countries take the 7 top places in AIDS prevelence (from 15% to 26%).

perhaps one would like to find out a little about this subject.

remember that the pope is CATHOLIC and the catholic church is strongly against the use of contraceptives.

Then perhaps one could not make an assumption, you would think about. The Pope grew up in family did he not?

yes it is true he doesnt know of the customs and traditions in the countries he visited but most foreigners and officials who make desicions on 'behalf' of Africa are the same.

I make decisions based on what is commonly good for everybody.

As a rule of thumb, superstitious (religious) beliefs hold mankind back, doing more harm than good.

However, a catholic Africia would do less harm to the rest of the world (and each other) than an islamic one.
