Dionysos - Thank you Satan (live!) ...

For those who may wonder about these "satanic" lyrics, consider that Mr. Léo Ferré (who wrote this text) was a singer, a poet, but also an anarchist. Thus, he denied the idea of God as a society belief. Plus, French poets (as Baudelaire or Eluard) often use metaphores based on death, religion, love, you know, all that stuff (for instance, remind that "the love" and "the death" sound pretty alike in French : "l'amour" and "la mort").

lltrf, if you are just learning french, how can you be so sure that "satan" means the devil here? It might just be a false cognate. You are jumping to conclusions. Please do some reaserch before you go off into a religious tirade. Who knows, it might just save you some embarassment later on...

the question is not to know if satan is a gentleman or not. I see you're just a dumb you don't speak french so you don't understand the beautiful lyrics. The man who wrote this song didn't believe in god

and to my mind all religions ARE DRUGS!

I'm not "a dumb" which by the way the proper way to phrase that is just dumb not "a dumb." Unless you mean to say "a dumb person." Anyways I don't speak fluid french I'm actually still in the process of learning it ; )
But it doesn't take a genius to figure out the title is about thanking satan. And I know what satan represents... If you wana explain your opinion go for it but no need to offend me lol
