goddamn, WHY is twilight so popular?! vampire movies like Let The Right One In deserve the spotlight

@howes1960 they love to count things, so people would leave hundreds of tiny beads outside their doors so the vampire would start to count them and be distracted when the sun came up. they are alergic to garlic, they can supposedly turn into bats at will, they can choose to simply kill their victim from the bite, or make them a vampire too, and they HATE HATE HATE thorns, because their cape could get stuck and then they couldn't get back to their coffin before sun-up

I had heard that vampyres were O/C to the max and could be distracted by counting objects. Had not heard about the thorns. Many contradictions arose as the myth was formed in less technological times.Would like to read the first english vampyre tale wrote by Dr. Polidor. Any idea where the myth that werewolves can't stand roses came from?
