It would be nice to really figure out to truly get these contraptions on the level of allowing a human body to glide on a level more controllable and less danger. Granted all of delight sits in-between danger and disaster, I guess for the time being just the sheer delight of having a taste of a quasi-birdlike experience will do. I think the real reason though no man-flight is not allowed is cause of governments. I mean no government, that I know of truly wants to see FREE and FLYING human beings
I calculated it will take me four to five years and about 18 grand to be able to do get to the skill point to do this.(1,000 skydives + 1,000 basejumps I want before I try wingsuit flying.) Not counting the cost of the suit.
It's definitely in the five year plan. I cannot wait. Is the mortality rate for wingsuit flying higher or lower than basejumping? It seems there's very few stats on wingsuit jumps.
Too scared to try it after only 200. The drop zones near me won't train you for base-jumping until your 300th solo sky dive. I want to do more than the minimal though. I am scared of fucking up the parachute deployment. I want to make sure I have a lot of experience w/proper timing and terrain and weather conditions to gauge quickly how to handle a bad situation, so 500 seemed reasonable. If i can stick to it. More interested in base-jumping w/wingsuits than skydiving from planes.
