The SAMP/T is a mobile, ground-based, air transportable, medium range air defense system designed to replace the Hawk air defense systems in the Italian and French Armed Forces. It comprises basically a ground control station/target engagement module, a 10 tons class truck-mounted Arabel radar, and up to six launcher vehicles carrying eight Aster 30 missiles each. Each Aster 30 missile is stored in a single sealed canister which eventually becomes its vertical launch ramp.

damn much better than patriot but i dont think its as good as sm3, thats the problem. germany should buy some of them in addition to meads, and some landbased sm3. +one self developped common radar.
but in Bundeswehrplan 2008/9 is an announcement that they want to create a good, statioary air surveillance
Russua is #1 when it comes to Heavy S.A,M, systems. U.S. and these people have a loonngg way to go. In Desert Storm Iraq launched over 31 missiles at israel. The Patriot intercepted just one on record. The israelis complained of it'e ineffectiveness. The US responded that Pac-2 wasn't meant to cover whole cities. Pac-3 was used in 2003 and worse than Pac-2, it's first score was A US F/A-18 HORNET!! The Pac-2 was such a failure that israel sold it to CHINA!! So you can't sell me those lies.
The very 1st interception was of the US' F/A-18. It didn't intercept a Silkworm. Saddam was sanctioned so hard he launched the ASM against Kuwait and the missile struck a MALL in Kuwait. Saddam launched about 5 missiles total during the whole war but I forgot the stats. The weapon is an expensive waste of money. Turkey should atleast try the SAMP-T. I don't like either but the Aster-30 does atleast appear better than any of the PACs.

I know of only 2, the UK Sea Dart v Silkworm and the US Patriot v Scud, which you talk of.
All these missiles (intercepted and launched) date back to 1960's - 1970's.
