Jay was reading what he wrote on that laptop in the booth...which is why he kept looking at the screen! Jay definitely writes as well as ad libs on the spot! As a songwriter myself I've written a buch of songs that you commit to memory after a while and can go right into the booth and sing them as if they've come off the top of the dome! Also, I can have a piece of paper right in from of me but change words, phrases, structure of songs as the mood hits me! Not hard stuff here folks!

As a songwriter/singer, I've done the same thing! (Still with me?) It's not so hard to commit things to memory and then change them on the spot! (Didn't lose you did I?).
