i saw johnny in january 74 in greensboro coliseum, nc. floyd wasn't with him. just richard and randy jo. they kicked ass. loudest band ever indoors. my ears rang for 3 days. randy was a monster bass player. richard hughes was an awesome drummer, and floyd is bad to the bone. i would love to see video of the AND lineup with rick derringer and bobby caldwell. killer dual leads

As far as Jimi's version being better it all depends on who you ask. They're both great, IMO. Check out Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush's version of this tune also!
