Look even from a purely "technical" standpoint: Dio has a 5 octave vocal range.... An electric guitar manages only 4 octaves range..
Besides I can't see how there has ever been anyone with a more consistently powerful AND expressive voice throughout not only live performances but an entire career. And in the long run dio will be remembered in history as great singer whereas ozzy will be remembered for biting the head of a bat. more or less....
your obiously correct, in your own mind, and after all, music is, like many things in life, just a matter of personal taste! i will always remember dio as the singer who somehow cheapened the greatest band [in my mind]. thanx, for the reply, though.
it's hard to say for me i am an ozzy fan and a dio fan, but their styles tended to change one another. I give ozzy the gratitude he diserves for providing his vochals for their megahits like war pigs and iron man, but its usually the lesser e recognised songs like that of Ronny James Dio's era in sabbath that tend to be better.
Actually, he wrote it after he left Black Sabbath. He was describing how he felt about having to leave. In the collection DIO Anthology, he also claims that there were already problems with Vivian Campbell at this time and he was going through personal problems as well.
