Yes, he recorded some of his best work in France. HONKY CHATEAU, DON'T SHOOT ME I'M ONLY THE PIANO PLAYER and GOODBYE YELLOW BRICK ROAD were all recorded in the Chateau d'Hierouville, north of Paris. He also did some work on his 1981 album THE FOX in France. Coincidentally, that was around the same time that Elton's duets with France Gall were released there.

Interesting. That's probably where he got the idea for "Honky Chateau". Yes, those old albums indeed state "Recorded in France" on the record labels from 30+ years ago, and are pretty darn good albums just the same. Sir Elton John never lets us down. I thought this was an interesting coincidence (a duet w/ FG).

I really love the melody, very Michel Berger. Too bad the quality of the video is so poor. Never mind.  J'aime la chanson de toute facon
