Besides this, John Williams is clearly "inspired" by Mars from The Planets by Gustav Holst.

If you listen to the 4th Movement, then you hear the Jaws theme, so yeah, I guess John Williams did take some things from Dvorak

I can hear John Williams's Duel of Fates at the beginning of this movement.

Just downbeat of course.

I had the same reaction the first time I heard this some 40 years ago. No doubt he was influenced by Beethoven. Who wasnt? The differences become more and more apparent the more you hear it.

He study many of Beethoven's work...Dvorak couldn't help but become influenced by Beethoven since it was Beethoven who set the stage for this kinda tempo...Also, Beethoven was tutored by Haydn and Mozart (briefly before Mozart died)

There are parts of this that sound very similar to some of the motifs and phrases used in some Star Wars music.

I'm guessing that the composer for the star wars music borrowed from Dvorak?
