I found a copy of the unedited score, and it says half note = 84... so the speed is maybe three or four beats per minute above tempo... but I just think that 84 is too fast...

His tchaikovski in russia and in live is really far better thant with Silvestri. Unfortunately, the recording is of poor quality and orchestra isn't as good as French.

A very good Lalo interpretation I like as Kogan is Ferras interpretation.

Zukerman's recording is the pinnacle for this piece.

This is, believe it or not, actually the marked tempo, at least in my Francescotti edition. I do agree it seems a little fast though.
