I remember this was number 1 in Classic fm charts for about 12 months back in early '90's. Dawn Upshaws voice is so natural and un laboured. Beautiful! Takes me back to when I came over so dreamy every time I heard it.

Watch the 1993 BBC feature about Gorecki and his 3rd symphony, because the cross fading between Gorecki himself telling what inspired him to write the symphony, the sheer heart rendering beauty of the music, beautiful landscape shots from the present day Zakopane area in Poland, and the pure horror of black and white films from the Nazi death camps - the impact will mesmerise you.
Talk about first rate editing and supreme music performance blending into one. Sheer magic!
