Jesus, this doesn't half sound dated now. 15 years old and sounds every bit of it.

@AdmiralBirdseye
Actually...contemporary pop is becoming more like dance music, and dance music is becoming more like pop. Calvin Harris, David Guetta, etc etc. These sounds are coming back around again, so how can it sound dated?

I love this song, mid nineties? I'm sure I once heard St Etienne on the radio doing a cover of Jackie Lee's White Horses (the theme song from the classic kids tv series that I used to watch in the seventies, but i can't seem to find the track anywhere. Did I imagine I heard it?

To MegaRapture, yes their are english, no doubt, but this song is a cover of "week end à Rome" from the french singer Etienne Daho.
And please, get to know french artists, some of them are really good, like Sebastien Tellier, Noir Désir, Daho, Alain Bashung,...and Gainsbourg of course. To finish, yes they got their name from the french football team who ruled the french league in the 70's.

Saint Etienne are an English indie dance act, fronted by Sarah Cracknell. Former music journalists Bob Stanley and Pete Wiggs are the other regular members of the band. They are named after the famous French football team AS Saint-Étienne, European Cup runners-up in the 1970s.[1] FACT and you FAIL meag rupture
