Thanks for this video, really appreceate it, still would give 10 marks for Blackmore's version of ! Joe is very technically sound .........but pls take one listen to "Gates of Babylon " from Rainbow and you would understand what "awesome " guitar playing is.

Why watch then? Go watch some crappy performance of a Deep Purple classic, done by Blackmore's Night instead. Deep Purple managed to live on without Ritchie thanks to Joe and Steve. The band ain't the same without Gillan. He is the classic voice of the band. Ritchie wanted Joe Lynn Turner, which is the same as throwing the band into the toilet.

Ritchie left the band because he wanted. His ego was bigger than his tallent and his spirit of playing together. Ian Gillan at 'come hell or high water' years before this show was so amazing that Ritchie could not share some space with him. Ritchie was really very good, but not a god of guitar. I really love his music, but he is so stupid. And since he left deep purple he did not create nothing original. I like Deep purple with S.Morse a lot too.

Thanks for the upload. That brings memories back. I was sixteen years old, standing in the front row on the left. Unfortunately I could not catch John Lords towel he was throwing to the crowd after the encores.
By the way the laser show at the beginning was quite cool. Location is called "Saarlandhalle!".
