I find that the Finistiere wave-washed lighthouses echo in the deepest parts of my soul. Kereon, La Vielle, La Jument, Ar-Men, Tevennec, etc. -- these guys guard some of the most brutal waters on the planet. Just about the sketchiest sea conditions imaginable.
The struggle, drive and ambition to simply build these lighthouses -- let alone create great art in the process -- boggles the mind. There is power and austerity there. It's like something out of the Bible.
