She totally deserved all the awards she got, her performance was outstanding. I agree she could have mentioned Piaf herself in one of her speeches, but she was probably way too shocked and nervous to think straight.

I don't think anyone can say she didn't deserve this after seeing La Vie en Rose. When she won the Oscar, I was like WTF? Who is she? But then I saw La Vie en Rose ... and she blew me away. Amazing. A super super talented actress, no doubt.

@Freez57fr I do not think that it is too important for a country to have their own language, after all, every language is in one way or another a combination of another language... such as latin. However, I do agree with the fact that Americans(Including myself) need to step up our game and need to enforce a better foreign language education system, starting in the elementary level.Provided with that, one should not generalize an entire country for what they have solely been exposed to.

Yes, you're right, every language is in one way or another a combination of another language.
French, Spanish and Italian come from latin, but they ARE NOT latin.
While the language of the USA doesn't come from English, but IS English, that's the difference.
But, you're right, that's not very important for a country to have its own language, however, I don't stand for an asshole like witneyfan, who criticize my English (which is bad, I know), while himself can't speak an other language.

I'm English and I speak both French and Spanish, and must commend your grasp of the language. Forget the Americans, the world is subject to their ignorance everyday as it is. Just leave them to it - it's the only thing they're good at.
