Ah, Sacre keeps being one of my favourite pieces of music, it's monumental. Brilliant orchestra, brilliant dance. What more could a passionate music-lover wish for?
Please forgive my ignorance but- what the hell was that? The music was wonderful but I don't quite get it. The movements were interesting to observe, the strength of the male and female forms working in accordance, in contrast but...I don't know. I enjoyed it but I'm a lover of opera and musicals. The closet example of ballet I've ever seen was the Rich Man's Frug in Fosse's Sweet Charity. I hope to expand my horizons to this obviously in depth realm. Again, I beg your patience and indulgence.
It's a part of a show called "L'amour - la danse". It was a show for Béjart's anniversary and it was some sort of collection of the best dances. The dance before "sacre du printemps" is called 'la mer'. The music for this dance was "Even Better Than The Real Thing" by U2.
