As it happens, I have a critique of Mandela; but its a reasonable one. And you've managed to completely ignore what i've said about the question of the use of violence in political struggle-so maybe i should have avoided the issue of racism, since it gave you a way to do that.

Well, there are two sides to that story. But Nelson Mandela is far from being a saint.

dude, it is a LONG way from "saint" to "cunt." i don't think i could have fought for freedom the way he did in the 60s, survived 27 years in prison with dignity and kept the movement alive, negotiated a peaceful settlement when the country could have had all-out war, and helped persuade MOST people that racial revenge was the wrong path. I think he should have spoken up on AIDS way more, he never addressed black landlessness, and many other things-but he was already an old man!
