I remember Dinah Shore sang a beautiful song titled
TEN THOUSAND MILES (away from home) but I can't seem to find it on YOUTUBE... Can anyone help?

What a voice and she was so beautiful and the women were much more pure in those days, not like the skanks we have today. Thanks for a great video.

Dinah Shore is one of the best singers of my time as a very young girl; as for her being a super sweet person, she definetly was! I met her in the Utica N.Y. train station as a young girl, and she signed my "Batman Comic Book!" She shouted across the crowded room, "Bye Betty!" I've never forgotten what a truly sweet person she was! Lizzy_Tish

There was a musician strike during the last part of WWII, so many singers recorded songs like this with an all vocal orchestra. You won't hear a single instrument on this recording. Isn't it gorgeous?! It's said that Dinah was pure sweetness, on stage and off.

Dinah was one of the best singers; very popular in the 40s and 50s, before my time. Today she is underrated.

I immediately bought this record when it came out in the sentimental '40's [as we used to call it].
