why was it banned?! they show naked movie stars on magazine covers like it's no prob. is it bacause they're not the American definition of "beauty"?

Don't forget that Unilver also owns the Axe brand for males, which objectifies attractive, young females in order to appeal to the male audience.

These people don't give a crap about women having "natural beauty", they are simply marketing their products well to their intended audience. Hypocrites

Yes,of course they are doing it to gain more market share and to make more profit.That's the purpose of business.

But the way they promote "natural beauty" MIGHT actually make some difference for some people about NOT feeling so bad about themselves when NOT looking like your average beauty product model or actress.

Isnt this better than the norm in the industry as a way of thinking about beauty?

The unrealistic beauty standards cause a lot of people to feel bad about themselves.

Except that Dove's Campaign for Real Beauty has been able to officially help in the banning overly thin models in countries like Spain.
Marketing scheme or not, what they're doing is something that other beauty markets never dared of.
