The acoustic shown in the video is not what makes the sound you are hearing. However, Mark could probably run a few strings from bed posts and get a great sound. The man had magic hands with a guitar.

mark knopfler is not just a good music writer but also a good person. he´s not one of the popular people who are going crazy because of money. He´s a normal person. This kind of people have to be hown respect. You can forget all the pop idiots alias Michael Jackson. People like MK are real music producers!

Definitely one of my favorite songs now. I must have listened to this over 300 times now. Reminds me of the simultaneous cold loneliness and warmth of being out to sea for 6 months at a time. God bless.
