Syd barrette is the one that was schyzophrenic. He tough that he had done something bad and he was guilty. He was trying to find out alone and he ended up to be alone for real, his girlfriend broke up with him and then he had no felling. He was controled by the worms in his head. He was isolated. Thats why " The wall "

The album is the story of oppression. Each event, the war, his father dying, his overbearing mother, the oppressive school system, the drugs, the rockstar lifestyle all are blocks in the wall that he puts between himself and the rest of the world until he finally comes unglued in this scene. The trial is his mind saving himself or going totally insane. There are many parallels in the album to the oppression of communism which was just becoming prevalent at the time this all takes place.

the song is about catching the high from a drug ie. heroin opiates stuff like that as you use the tolerance builds and it takes more to catch the begining high once again and each time it gets harder and harder to reach

The Wall. Most likely one of the most impressive and most powerful imagery of all times is this stark revelation of the concept of a totalitarian system. Waters wrote this about a story of "Pink", a rock star who morphs into a dictator. Watching this in the theater when it came out was most likely the most powerful movie I had ever seen, and ever since. This will remain a #1 masterpiece of all time, and will be passed to countless generations.
