Exactly. So why do Republicans keep blaming Obama and Carter during their respective times in office? They have/had no effect on the economy.

It's different because obama created a massive stimulus which is having a negative effect on the economy. He wants to use another one again, which will not get passed. He wants to implement a Public Option. Even if other countries health programs are efficient and work, his was a major laughingstock which could of sunk our nation. The other side of it is, of course, the Political/gay side. Carter and Obama are not republicans, so they will of course get attacked by them, and visa versa

Why is it having a negative effect on the economy? If I recall, GDP growth was positive last quarter and stocks have been up 30% since March...that's negative? Also calling Obama a socialist because of healthcare reform is like calling Truman, JFK and Clinton socialists as well because they all tried universal healthcare.

Only 10% of Obama's stimulus has been spent, so it seems very unlikely we can attribute our recovery to Obama' stimulus. If we could, Obama would not be trying to push another one through. Also, stocks are based on perception. People buy because they THINK the stimulus will work. Expert say stocks are already becoming inflated, which will be very bad in the near future. Lastly, putting money into an economy isn't bad in itself, it's the taking of money and going into debt that is.
