Devers' win here and in Barcelona can be attributed to her exceptional skills as a starter. She is phenomenal out of the blocks. Her staying power isn't great here and neither was it in Barcelona. However, in both finals her powerful and controlled start is helped her win by a hair.

The 100 m was not her best event, but the sheer talent of her start, with her very good, if not great, staying power, got her the gold.
