My house was affected, and my family came back and rebuilt together with the commmunity.

And when the saints started doing really well in 2006, it was the first sign of hope in the middle of distruction and gave everyone great feelings. The saints and this song that Green Day and U2 performed before that game just epitomized the hope and determination of the city through these hard times.

Someone earlier said why do we stay in New Orleans if we are so prone to hurricanes? If you live here, it's hard to describe, you can't just move away. It becomes a part of your life. When Katrina hit, we were all devsitated. Hell, even today i still see houses that haven't been touched since the storm, and on parts of the interstate you can see the water line. we are still affected, but stand together to rebuild our city, even 5 years later.

Will you people stop with your pointless comments, this song is about how we left the Victims of Hurricane Katrina to die and suffer. Its saying how we should have sent troops from Iraq to New Orleans, but we didn't.
