Casal's mother was Puerto Rican. That's why he went to live in Puerto Rico his last 30 years and died there. There is a nice Casals Museum in Old San Juan. An he founded the now famous Festival Casals in San Juan, Puerto Rico, that takes place every year there.

I was there last week with kids from my summercamp. Before visiting we thought the kids would be bored, but in the end they all wrote in the visitors book saying how much they enjoyed it. The museum is simple and beautiful, with a wonderful message of peace, and yes, I think it's impossible not to cry. Highly recommend a visit to learn more about this inspirational man...it's the reason I searched for this video today.
