The 40's and 50's music was so smooth...and you could understand the words. What a difference music is today..They just mumble and I can't understand half the words.
Believe me I grew up with this music and I love it...

I saw Harry with Betty Grable at the end of Oxford Street when I was a little girl and he was appearing at The Meadowbrook in Cedar Grove, New Jersey; they were looking at a house on Ridgewood Avenue...it seems to me "I've heard that song before it's from an old familiar score and you have me smiling and starting my day with delightful nostalgia...I know each word because I've heard that song forevermore...Thank you

I saw Harry James in Boston in the early 80s....somewhere in the theater district....I had seats close to the stage and I got a good look at him. I remember thinking when the tickets were offered to me that I would be glad I went. I am.

I love that Woody uses the songs from his childhood in his movies.

I found a CD of Harry James at Goodwill and picked it up on a whim. This song is the one that stuck out most to me. It's really interesting what random happenstance can lead you to really good music.
